Rehearsal Recap

2 05 2008

God is amazing and he continues to bless us at Life Connections! Last night we had another awesome rehearsal, which is great considering that we looked at 3 band new, tough, songs and 2 tough songs that were brand new last week. Again, we didn’t play everything perfectly and we definately still have a ways to go and a bunch of stuff to work on, but all in all it went very well and we had a great time of worshiping God.

Check out my previous post ‘Set list for rehearsal tonight…‘ if you are wondering what we songs we looked at.

The top two items that we will be working on as a band are volume/dynamics and timing. We had some problems last night with both.  The volume issues could partly be due to setting up slightly different, but they are definately not solely related to that. As for the timing issues - it is very difficult to not start going faster on slow songs especially when there are syncopated rhythms. We’ll work it all out. I’ve encouraged everyone in the band to obtain a metronome and practice at home along with that. This is especially important for drummers, even very good and accomplished drummers.

Anyhow, great practice! Next week we start looking at the set list for our May 18th preview service.
