Sunday Setlist - 10/05/08

6 10 2008

Yesterday was great! Things are finally settling down now that we are getting the hang of doing weekly services. Everything was smooth and fit well together. Even the transitions around Life Groups!

It was nice to have the whole band back. It made things much more lively to have our drummer again. The music went very well and the congregation response was even better this week! There weren’t even any major technical glitches (asside from a couple of missed slides/miscues here and there)! God is great!

The best part was that we had our first salvation yesterday during the invitation! Praise God!

Here’s the setlist:

Walk-in

  • Now that You’re Near (Marty Sampson)
Set I
  • Blessed Be Your Name (Matt Redman)
  • King of Majesty (Marty Sampson)
  • Come Thou Fount (David Crowder Version)
  • Fire Fall Down (Matt Crocker)
Set II
  • Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone (Chris Tomlin)
  • Let the Praises Ring (Lincoln Brewster)

If you take a look at last weeks Sunday Setlist, you’ll notice that the walk-in and one of the songs in the first set were the same. The walk-in is one place that we introduce new songs (or songs that are new to our congregation) first before we actually sing them. The other song (King of Majesty) is another song that is newer to our congregation so we have been repeating it in several consecutive services so people become familiar with it. How do you introduce new songs to your congregation?

You’ll also notice that we chopped two songs out of Set II, this is because we determined our services were too long with Life Groups in the middle and that by the end people were distracted and ready to go. We still did seven songs yesterday which is still quite a few.

Sunday Setlist - 08/17/08

18 08 2008

Trying to join the Sunday Setlist blog carnival from now on.

Yesterday was our last Preview Service! That’s right, come September 21st, we will begin doing this every week!

Being our last preview service we had one last chance to work out some of the kinks and, all in all, everything went pretty well. We did end up running about 10 minutes long, but it was all good. Great worship, great sermon, increased attendance, great fun!

Here’s what our setlist looked like.

  • Great Redeemer (Paul Baloche)
  • Let The Praises Ring (Lincoln Brewster)
  • Hosanna (Paul Baloche, Brenton Brown)
  • Days of Elijah (Robin Mark)
  • Madly (Steve Fee)
  • Amazing Grace - My Chains Are Gone (Chris Tomlin, John Newton)
  • Be The Centre (Michael Frye)
  • Awesome is the Lord (Cary Pierce, Chris Tomlin, Jesse Reeves, Jon Abel)
